ISO

De I.S.O.  is de International Organization for Standardization, ofwel de Internationale Organisatie voor Standaardisatie die normen vaststelt.
Deze ISO organisatie is een samenwerkingsverband van nationale standaardisatieorganisaties zoals de NEN (Nederlands Normalisatie Instituut) en de NBN (Bureau voor Normalisatie) in België en de DIN (Deutsches Institut für Normung).
De ISO werkt voor de ontwikkeling van sommige standaarden en normen ook samen met de IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission). De ISO en de IEC zijn samen oprichter van het American National Standards Institute(ANSI).
